Citizens Advice North East Derbyshire and Citizens Advice Derbyshire Districts are delighted to announce a new partnership with Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

This exciting collaboration will bring our essential advice services directly to the hospital, with a dedicated presence in the Charity Hub located in the main atrium.

Thanks to funding from the Chesterfield Royal Hospital Charitable Trust, we can now offer free, confidential, and impartial advice to patients, visitors, and hospital staff right where it’s needed. Our expert advisers are on hand to provide support with a wide range of issues, including benefits, debt, housing, consumer rights, energy, legal, immigration and employment.

Mahmud Nawaz, Chair of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, highlighted the importance of the new service:

“Caring for our community doesn’t always need to be clinical. I am proud that, with the support of our Chesterfield Royal Hospital Trust Charity, we have partnered with the fantastic Citizens Advice team and support both colleagues and patients to access information, advice and support to enable them to care for themselves and their loved ones. This shows how powerful this partnership can be, and leverages our role at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as an anchor institution in the communities we serve. I know that already this service has been positively received and valuable to our community and I look forward to seeing our relationship develop.”

This partnership is a testament to the power of community collaboration and demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting people’s well-being in the broadest sense. We look forward to helping members of the Chesterfield Royal Hospital community find a way forward with the problems they face.

Citizens Advice in Derbyshire have two decades of experience delivering advice in GP surgeries. We’ve seen how addressing the social determinants of health—such as income, housing, debt, and employment in a primary care setting can significantly improve a person’s overall well-being. We are therefore pleased to now extend this vital service into Chesterfield Royal Hospital.

  • When: Drop-in (no appointment required) Tuesdays 10am-2pm
  • Services: Free, confidential advice on benefits, debt, housing, consumer, energy, legal, immigration and employment.
